Oracle VM Virtual Box, NO 64 Bit option

Oracle VM Virtual Box 5.2.20 r125813 (Qt5.6.2)

So… you’ve installed Oracle VM Virtual Box & you’re trying to install a
64 bit version of your selected OS.

However you have stumbled into a road block, you can’t find any 64 bit versions on the list.

Now I fixed this issue with the following steps:

  1. Go to into Programs and Features, on Windows 10 Pro Version 1809 (Build 17763.107);
  2. Then click on Turn Windows features on or off;
  3. Directly Under TFTP Client there is an option for Virtual Machine Platform, turn this OFF. It relates to Hyper-V and will kill any chance of getting what you want to do; and
  4. Make sure your UEFI/BIOS has Virtualization Enabled.

Once you have that done Reboot… Open Oracle VM Virtual Box and you should have your 64 bit options in the list.

HandBrake: Automatic File Naming

Here’s how you Prevent handbrake from appending numbers to file names …

So you’re using HandBrake to transcode some video files, but you’re wanting to get rid of that annoying -1 or -2 it puts on the end of the file.

Simple easy fix.

  • Open HandBrake;
  • go to Tools…;
  • Preferences…; and
  • Output files.

Where it has Automatic File Naming. Go to where it says File Format {Source}-{title}.
Now remove -{title}.

Restart HandBrake and Voila! You have Automatic File Naming without the title number -1 or -2, alas Preventing handbrake from appending numbers to file names.
